Your Children's Dental Plan 

The philosophy of Balsall Common Dental Practice is based on PREVENTIVE DENTAL CARE.

All children are born free from dental disease. Our goal is to help them to stay that way.

Beginning dental visits early is the key to success. Children should attend every 6 months from soon after birth. Prevention works best if started early.

With this philosophy firmly in mind, we use the latest state-of-the-art techniques and equipment to detect, prevent and stop disease in its infancy.

All children registered at the practice receive the following prevention package:

• 2 examinations per year utilising DIAGNOdent laser cavity detection.
• 2 orthodontic assessments per year to monitor growth, development and transition from baby teeth to adult teeth.
• 2 preventive fluoride varnish applications per year
• Advice on oral hygiene and decay prevention
• Up to 4 small x-rays per year as required
• Up to 2 emergency appointments per year (during normal office hours)

Children aged 4 years and over receive the prevention package on payment of a monthly direct debit. Children under 4 years old receive the same benefits free of charge. Children may continue to receive benefits until they leave full-time education.

When a preventitive philosophy is followed additional treatment is rare. If any additional treatments are required these will be carried out using the latest materials and techniques associated with private dentistry. Such treatments are provided at a substantial discount to adult treatment costs.
